Working with Lim Soojung, Kim Junhan, Jung Soojung, and Shim Eunkyung
Actor Ha Jungwoo will return to television dramas for the first time in 18 years since "H.I.T" in 2007. On June 26, tvN announced that Ha Jungwoo, Lim Soojung, Kim Junhan, Jung Soojung, and Shim Eunkyung have been cast as leads in the drama "How to Become a Building Owner in the Republic of Korea."
The story follows a building owner struggling with debt who becomes involved in crime to protect his family and building, both of which are more precious to him than his own life. Ha Jungwoo will play the role of Gisujong, a man who becomes a building owner by taking out loans with everything he has ("Yeongkkeul"), but ends up overwhelmed by a massive mountain of debt.
Lim Soojung will portray Kim Sun, Gisujong's wife, who is strong-willed and remains calm and resourceful in crisis situations. Kim Junhan will play Min Hwalseong, Gisujong's friend, who, driven by ambition and a desire for recognition, ends up making unexpected choices. Jung Soojung has been cast as Jeon Ikyeong, Min Hwalseong's wife and the daughter of a major real estate investor. Shim Eunkyung will play Yona, an employee at Real Capital who pressures Gisujong.
The drama will be directed by Lim Pilseong, known for the film "Persona." The script will be written by Oh Hangki, a novelist who has published works such as "Baguette Boy Soldiers" and "Long Live Humanity." Filming is scheduled to begin next month, and the drama will air on tvN in the first half of next year.
