Samsung Electronics is stepping forward to sponsor the cultivation of future scientific talent.
On the 26th, Samsung Electronics signed a sponsorship agreement (MOU) to support the Korean delegation for the International Mathematical and Physics Olympiads to nurture the Korean representatives for the international Olympiads. The ceremony took place at the Korea Science and Technology Center in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, in collaboration with the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity, the Korean Mathematical Society, and the Korean Physical Society. On June 26 at 1:30 p.m., Samsung Electronics signed a sponsorship agreement (MOU) with the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity, the Korean Mathematical Society, and the Korean Physical Society at the Korea Science and Technology Center in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The agreement aims to support and nurture the Korean delegation for the International Mathematical and Physics Olympiads.
The International Mathematical Olympiad and International Physics Olympiad are annual competitions where high school students from around the world gather to solve challenging problems and demonstrate their abilities. The Korean delegation has participated in the International Mathematical Olympiad since 1988 and in the International Physics Olympiad since 1992, consistently achieving excellent results each year.
Samsung Electronics decided to sponsor the Olympiads to raise public awareness of the importance of fundamental science and to contribute to fostering future scientific talent. The company plans to support the selection, training, and participation of the Korean Olympiad delegation, and will also provide separate scholarships to award recipients.
The signing ceremony was attended by Sijeong Cho, Vice President and Head of People Team, DX Division, Samsung Electronics; Wanwoo Choi, Vice President and Head of People Team, DS Division, Samsung Electronics; Woosung Jung, Chairman of the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity; Sijong Kwak, President of the Korean Mathematical Society; and Jinhee Yoon, President of the Korean Physical Society. The attendees expressed their support for the Olympiad delegation, who are expected to become key leaders in driving technological innovation in Korea in the future.
