President Lee: "The Era of Relying Solely on Military Power Is Over... Winning Without Fighting Is What Matters" President Lee Jae Myung Yonhap News

President Lee Jae Myung, marking the 75th anniversary of the Korean War, emphasized, "It is more important to win without fighting than to win by fighting."


On June 25, through social networking services (SNS), President Lee stated, "The most certain security is a state where there is no need to fight, in other words, creating peace." He added, "The era of defending the nation solely by relying on military power has passed," and made these remarks accordingly.


President Lee continued, "Peace is directly linked to the economy and to the survival of our people." He pledged, "I am committed to firmly establishing a peace regime on the Korean Peninsula so that the economy remains stable and our citizens can live safe and secure lives."


President Lee also explained, "Today's Republic of Korea did not come into being by chance." He said, "It was made possible by the sacrifice and dedication of the soldiers who defended the battlefield, the veterans, their families, and all the people who have endured the scars of war."


President Lee expressed, "I feel regret that we have not been able to provide sufficient compensation and honor to those who made special sacrifices to protect the Republic of Korea." He promised, "I will seek various ways to ensure even greater support in the future."


He further mentioned, "Building a nation where we never have to experience war again is the proper way to honor the sacrifices and dedication of so many people."
