This contest was organized to allow IT officials from cities and counties across Jeonnam Province to share outstanding informatization policies and enhance their digital transformation capabilities. The county determined that, due to the intensification of climate change, frequent fluctuations in water temperature and abnormal weather have led the aquaculture industry to face the problem of 'flooded shipments.' To address this, the county developed a platform utilizing information and communications technology (ICT).
This platform collects real-time data from aquaculture farms using water quality sensors and CCTV, and analyzes it with artificial intelligence (AI) to determine optimal feeding times, predict the possibility of fish deaths, and analyze growth models. In particular, the platform is designed with real-time monitoring and alert systems accessible via smartphones, making it easy for elderly fishermen to use and respond.
A county official stated, "The goal of this project is to help aquaculture fishermen solve problems using data and achieve stable income in optimal environments."
Meanwhile, the county plans to further advance the 'Clean Sea Aquaculture Platform' into a core infrastructure for sustainable aquaculture by expanding observation stations and refining AI analysis functions.
