Small Business Community: "Hansung Sook Is the Right Person to Lead Digital Transformation for Small Business Owners"

"Signed MOU with the Korea Federation of Micro Enterprises during her tenure as Naver CEO"

The Korea Federation of Micro Enterprises welcomed the nomination of Hansung Sook as the first Minister of SMEs and Startups under the Lee Jaemyung administration, calling her "the right person to lead the digital transformation and win-win cooperation for small business owners."

On the 23rd, the federation issued a statement following the nomination of Hansung Sook as the inaugural minister of the new administration's Ministry of SMEs and Startups, saying, "If Hansung Sook becomes the new minister, we expect her to lead the expansion of online presence for small business owners and restore the broken ladder of growth."

The federation also mentioned Hansung Sook's efforts for win-win cooperation with small business owners during her tenure as CEO of Naver.

The federation stated, "In May 2019, Hansung Sook, together with our federation, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, and Naver, held a joint agreement ceremony for 'Voluntary Win-Win Cooperation Companies' (Jasanghan Companies). With this, Naver became the first Jasanghan Company, taking the lead in win-win cooperation with small business owners. Naver has also continued to actively promote digital transformation and win-win cooperation for small businesses, for example, by expanding 'Naver Partners Square,' a space dedicated to supporting the digitalization of small business owners."

The federation added, "Hansung Sook also attended the Korea Small Business Owners Conference hosted by our federation, where she encouraged and empowered small business owners, who are the foundation of the Korean economy."

The federation said, "We hope Hansung Sook will take the lead in addressing various pending issues, including the establishment of a vice minister dedicated to small business owners within the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, the enactment of the Small Business Welfare Act to strengthen the social safety net, and the provision of vitality support funds for small business owners, all based on public-private cooperation."
