On June 24, the city announced that it will attend the '2025 Asia-Pacific Network for Housing Research (APNHR) Conference,' which will be held at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China, from June 26 to 27, to introduce Seoul's response to housing issues arising from complex social changes, such as demographic shifts, low birth rates, and an aging population.
This Asia-Pacific Network for Housing Research (APNHR) Conference will be held under the theme "Towards Resilience and Inclusiveness: Adapting to Multifaceted Issues in the Asia-Pacific Region." Housing experts from various Asian countries will seek solutions to urban housing challenges.
Jung Jongdae, Director of the Real Estate Policy Development Center of Seoul, will provide a detailed introduction to Seoul’s major housing policy cases, including Mirinae Jip and Youth Safe Housing. The session will be held under the theme "Responding to Current Housing Issues in Asia: Discussions from a Practitioner’s Perspective," and will include discussions with Winnie Hoe Wing-yin, Hong Kong Secretary for Housing; Jun Feng, former President of the China Real Estate Industry Association; and representatives from the Beijing Public Rental Housing Management Center.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government plans to use this international academic conference as an opportunity to strengthen policy networks among Asian cities and continue international cooperation. The city will also host the 'Seoul Housing Forum' in October.
Choi Jinseok, Director of Housing at the Seoul Metropolitan Government, stated, "Seoul's leading and multifaceted housing policies will be shared at this gathering where cities around the world come together to seek solutions to housing issues," adding, "We will continue to work together with Asian cities to implement more effective housing policies."
