Vietnam is drawing attention as a market with expanding outbound tourism demand centered on young consumers, based on its high economic growth rate of 7%. In particular, Korean professional e-sports enjoy great popularity in Vietnam.
At this Korea Travel Festa, the Korea Tourism Organization actively promoted tourism to Korea through a variety of events, including 'K-Culture booths' where visitors could directly experience Korean culture such as the 'League of Legends (LoL)' game (Riot Games Korea), K-beauty (Amorepacific), and K-food (Nongshim), as well as live commerce sales of travel products to Korea by KLOOK. The organization added that a total of about 70,000 visitors attended the two-day event and enjoyed a wide array of Korean cultural experiences.
Kim Jonghoon, acting head of the International Tourism Division at the Korea Tourism Organization, stated, "Last year, about 510,000 Vietnamese tourists visited Korea, making Vietnam one of the core markets for inbound tourism. Since this Korea Travel Festa was composed of K-culture experiential content that all age groups can enjoy, we expect it will lead to substantial demand for travel to Korea."
