Korean Church General Assembly Expresses Gratitude to Fallen Patriots
Pledges to Uphold Creation Order, Respect for Life, and Overcome Low Birth Rates
Urges Government to Achieve Peaceful Unification
On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Korean War, the Korean Church General Assembly expressed gratitude and respect for the noble sacrifices of the fallen patriots. The organization also urged the government to make greater efforts for national security and unity.
On June 23, the Korean Church General Assembly released a statement saying, "We thank God for guiding the Republic of Korea to become a democratic republic that values human rights and freedom, as well as a path of the Gospel and prosperity." The statement continued, "We express our gratitude and respect for the noble sacrifices of the veterans and patriots who gave their lives for our country."
The statement went on to affirm, "We will fulfill our responsibility to restore healthy families in accordance with the order of creation, to overcome low birth rates by spreading a culture that values life, and to establish a sound worldview."
Addressing the government, the organization stated, "We hope the government will uphold the Constitution, further strengthen independent national defense and diplomacy to protect the lives of the people, and become a government that brings hope to the next generation and happiness to the people through national unity and revitalization of the people's livelihood and the economy."
The statement continued, "The government must strive for permanent peace and unification," and urged, "In accordance with the spirit of the Constitution, the government should actively promote dialogue between South and North Korean authorities to pave the way for peaceful unification."
