On June 23, the Sejong City Office of Education held a kickoff meeting for the policy research on the establishment direction of the 3rd Special School in Sejong, concretizing the need for a new special school in response to the increasing number of students eligible for special education.

The meeting was organized to propose a direction for school establishment and an educational environment model suitable for the circumstances of the Sejong region. The research is being conducted by the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Joongbu University, which was commissioned for the project, and the research period will continue until October this year.

The meeting proceeded with a presentation by the research team on the project overview and implementation plan, followed by a Q&A session and discussion. The research team plans to carry out the study through both qualitative and quantitative analyses, including case studies of special schools in other cities and provinces, a survey of the current status of special education in Sejong, and questionnaires.

Park Eunju, Director of Early Childhood and Elementary Education, stated, "I hope this policy research will serve as an opportunity to further advance the special education environment in Sejong," adding, "We will spare no effort to ensure that all students have equal access to educational opportunities."
