IT security and authentication platform company RaonSecure (Co-CEOs: Lee Soonhyung and Lee Jeonga) announced on June 23 that it has been awarded the contract for the "Mobile Disability Registration Card Implementation" project commissioned by Korea Minting, Security Printing & ID Card Operating Corporation (KOMSCO).
This mobile disability registration card project aims to improve welfare accessibility and rights for people with disabilities. RaonSecure plans to build the issuance system based on its blockchain-powered digital ID technology.
The existing plastic disability registration card required individuals to carry it at all times when accessing welfare services, causing inconvenience. There was also significant psychological burden due to being conscious of others during identity verification. Cases of fraudulent benefit claims due to loss or forgery have continued to occur, making the disability registration card an area in urgent need of mobile transformation.
For this project, RaonSecure will provide its blockchain-based digital ID platform "OmniOne Enterprise" and a full suite of mobile security solutions. This platform has already been applied to mobile resident registration cards and mobile driver's licenses, and its reliability and security have been verified through FIDO biometric authentication, a distributed server structure, and blockchain consensus algorithms. Another strength is the use of zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) technology, which enables selective provision of only the necessary information without exposing unnecessary sensitive data.
With the introduction of the mobile disability registration card powered by RaonSecure's technology, people with disabilities will be able to conveniently prove their identity and eligibility remotely, anytime and anywhere. This is expected to greatly enhance the convenience of accessing welfare services, while also enabling the use of various digital welfare infrastructures such as online eligibility verification and discount services, thereby contributing to greater social inclusion. At the same time, the technology is expected to prevent unauthorized use by blocking forgery, alteration, and identity theft.
Lee Soonhyung, CEO of RaonSecure, stated, "This mobile disability registration card project will serve as a model case where blockchain-based digital ID technology can directly contribute to improving the quality of life for the socially disadvantaged. We will continue to lead the digital identity authentication and credential verification market and contribute to the realization of sustainable social value."
Meanwhile, RaonSecure has implemented blockchain-based national digital IDs, including mobile resident registration cards, mobile driver's licenses, mobile alien registration cards, mobile national veterans registration cards, and mobile government employee IDs, using its blockchain-based digital ID technology. In line with the era of mobile IDs, the company has also launched "OmniOneCX VC Verifier," a solution for mobile ID verification and copy generation, and continues to lead the market for digital identity authentication and credential verification services by providing a range of mobile ID-related solutions and services.
