Ensuring a Healthy Work Life by Preventing Diseases and Industrial Accidents
Hamyang County in South Gyeongsang Province announced on the 23rd that it had conducted special health examinations for 226 active workers across 17 departments to protect workers' health from various hazardous factors in the workplace and to create a safe working environment.
A special health examination is a medical checkup conducted for workers engaged in tasks exposed to hazardous factors such as noise, dust, chemicals, and night work, in accordance with Article 130 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act.
Accordingly, the county conducted the special health examinations in the main conference room of the county office through an on-site visit and mobile clinic provided by Jinju Jeil Hospital. For those who wished to undergo a general health examination, both types of checkups were offered simultaneously.
The county expects that these special health examinations will enable the early detection of occupational diseases, help prevent industrial accidents, and ensure that workers can enjoy a healthier work life by working in a safer and more pleasant environment.
Jin Byungyeong, the county governor, who visited the site, said, "Please make sure that every worker subject to the special health examination receives the checkup without exception."
