Hyundai Motor Group announced on June 20 (Korea Standard Time) that it had been selected in a total of four categories, including Car of the Year, at the '2025 Drivers' Choice Awards,' an automotive awards event organized by Auto Trader, the largest car trading platform in the UK.
The Kia EV3 was ultimately chosen as Auto Trader's 'Car of the Year 2025,' beating out other finalists such as the BMW iX3 and Renault Scenic E-Tech. The EV3 also received the 'Best Mainstream Electric Car' award, earning recognition from UK consumers for its outstanding product value.
In addition, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Santa Fe were awarded 'Best Car for City Drivers' and 'Best 7-Seater,' respectively, further proving their excellent product competitiveness.
Erin Baker, Editor-in-Chief of Auto Trader, commented, "The Kia EV3 offers premium-level features at the most reasonable price among electric vehicles currently on sale. The Ioniq 5 stands out for its smooth driving performance and excellent visibility, while the Santa Fe demonstrates true value for money with its spaciousness, practicality, and style."
The fact that Hyundai Motor Group models received awards at this year's Drivers' Choice Awards is particularly meaningful, as the results reflect the real opinions of UK car owners. Auto Trader conducted an online survey of more than 220,000 car owners in the UK, gathering their opinions about their own vehicles, and selected award winners in a total of 25 categories covering automotive brands and models worldwide.
A Hyundai Motor Group representative said, "It is extremely encouraging that the Kia EV3 has been named Car of the Year not only in the UK but also globally, and that it has won Auto Trader's 2025 Car of the Year as chosen by actual UK consumers. Likewise, we are very pleased that the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Santa Fe have also been selected as the best cars by UK customers."
