Gwangju Office of Education Conducts Regular Personnel Appointments for 471 General Officials

75 Promotions and 301 Transfers
Establishment of Gwangsan Education Support Center and Character and Life Education Division

The Gwangju Office of Education announced on June 20 that it will conduct regular personnel appointments for 471 general education officials, effective July 1. The appointments include 75 promotions (2 to grade 4, 1 to grade 5, and 72 to grade 6 or below), 301 transfers, 30 officials entering retirement preparation or mandatory retirement, and 32 new hires.

Among those promoted to grade 4 director, Jeong Gwanghee, an administrative officer in the General Affairs Division, has been appointed as the Director of Educational Cooperation at Chonnam National University. Kim Jeonghee, an officer at the Student Independence Movement Memorial Hall, has been promoted to Director of the Central Library. Park Jaehyung, an officer in the Facilities Division, has been promoted to grade 5 and will move to the position of Future School Complex Facilities Manager.


In this round of appointments, the Office of Education established two new divisions: the Character and Life Education Division and the Gwangsan Education Support Center. The Office expects these measures to accelerate efforts to improve the educational environment and advance the integration of early childhood education and care in Gwangsan-gu, an area that has faced challenges such as overcrowded classrooms and a shortage of schools.


Superintendent Lee Jungseon stated, "We have assigned personnel with field experience and practical skills to key positions," adding, "We will implement various policies and initiatives in a stable and effective manner."
