Meeting Held to Review and Strengthen Cooperation System
for Responding to Natural Disasters
Damyang County and Damyang Police Station held a countermeasure meeting on the 18th at the County Office Soswaewon Room to review the cooperation system for natural disaster preparedness during the rainy season, attended by County Governor Jeong Cheolwon and Chief Yang Sugun. Damyang County (Governor Jeong Cheolwon) announced on the 20th that it held a countermeasure meeting with Damyang Police Station (Chief Yang Sugun) on the 18th at the County Office Soswaewon Room to prepare for natural disasters during the summer.
This meeting was organized to proactively respond to natural disasters that may intensify due to climate change ahead of the rainy season, and to discuss cooperation measures.
A total of 13 officials from Damyang County and Damyang Police Station attended the meeting, where discussions focused on practical cooperation measures for maintaining social order, managing traffic, and preventing casualties in the event of a disaster.
Through the meeting, the two organizations reviewed their cooperation system and agreed to strengthen practical collaboration so that they can respond quickly and systematically to summer natural disasters, such as typhoons and heavy rainfall.
Governor Jeong Cheolwon stated, "As emphasized at the 'Safety and Security Inspection Meeting' presided over by the President, it is time to put the lives and safety of residents first and respond proactively," and added, "I hope Damyang County and the police station will work even more closely together to protect the lives and property of our residents."
Meanwhile, the county plans to continue preemptive inspections of vulnerable areas and activities to prevent casualties as part of efforts to strengthen its disaster response system this summer.
