A player from the professional football club Daejeon Hana Citizen is under police investigation on suspicion of sexual assault.
On June 20, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul announced that football player A has been booked and is under investigation on charges of indecent assault, rape, and violation of the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment, etc. of Sexual Crimes (filming using cameras, etc.).
According to the police, the victim claims that in September of last year, she was subjected to indecent assault and rape by A at a hotel in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. In addition to the complaint detailing these allegations, the victim also submitted to the police social media messages exchanged with A, audio recordings, and a medical certificate.
The police, who received the complaint in April, conducted an interview with the victim on May 6 and recently summoned A for questioning.
A police official stated, "As this is an ongoing investigation, we cannot disclose further details."
