On June 20, Eunpyeong-gu in Seoul announced that it has implemented a generative artificial intelligence chatbot system powered by ChatGPT, enabling the use of standardized administrative tasks with AI as an auxiliary tool.
The newly introduced chatbot system utilizes laws, guidelines, and manuals required for each area of work?directly input by Eunpyeong-gu?as training data to provide accurate administrative information. This system is initially being applied to tasks with high levels of repetition and standardization, such as drafting press releases and processing information disclosure requests.
When users ask questions in natural language, the system quickly provides information on relevant procedures or laws and presents the basis for its answers, thereby enhancing both the reliability and efficiency of administrative work. In particular, it is designed so that all employees can freely access and use it via the internal administrative network, improving accessibility and convenience.
Eunpyeong-gu plans to complete the pilot operation of the press release chatbot within this month and begin producing and distributing chatbots for various administrative support tasks starting next month. This reflects the district’s commitment to continuously expanding the use of AI across all areas of administration.
Kim Mikyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong-gu, stated, “AI chatbots are more than just a technological adoption?they are a strategic tool for enhancing the quality of administration,” adding, “We will continue to expand the AI environment throughout all administrative areas.”
