Automatic Destination Recommendations Powered by AI
Naver announced on June 20 that it has recently added an AI-based automatic destination recommendation feature to its map service through an update.
The AI automatic destination recommendation feature automatically guides users to frequently visited places based on their driving records, depending on the departure time.

For example, when the Naver Map app is launched in an environment where the car and smartphone are connected (Apple CarPlay, Android Auto), the automatic navigation screen opens to the registered workplace in the morning and to the registered home in the afternoon, with route guidance starting immediately.
This feature has been applied first to commute routes. In the future, it will be expanded to various destinations, such as academies or leisure facilities that users visit regularly, through further feature enhancements.
Additionally, this update has introduced a new 'My Car Icon' feature. Users can select a design that suits their preferences from a variety of car icons and apply it to the navigation screen.
Naver Map is expanding features that enhance convenience for navigation users based on AI technology. In May, it introduced the 'AI Estimated Arrival Time' feature, which provides personalized estimated arrival times by analyzing the driver's speed and driving patterns. Earlier, in March, it also strengthened the 'Driving Analysis' service, which allows drivers to check their driving scores based on their driving habits and compare them with other drivers.
Jung Kyunghwa, leader of Naver Map, said, "Through this update, we have further enhanced driving convenience by combining AI technology with navigation usability analysis," adding, "We will continue to provide not only accurate and efficient route guidance but also upgrade personalized services to deliver a differentiated mobility experience."
