Passenger Experience Evaluations from Over 600 Airlines Worldwide
"Solidifying Its Position as the Most Awarded Airline in the United States"
Delta Air Lines announced on June 20 that it has been named the "Best Global Airline in North America" by the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX), a global airline rating organization. With this award, Delta Air Lines has further solidified its position as the most awarded airline in the United States.
The APEX Awards recognize outstanding airlines based on anonymous passenger evaluations collected from more than one million flights operated by over 600 airlines worldwide. The evaluation criteria include five categories: "seat comfort," "cabin service," "in-flight meals" (jointly provided with the International Flight Services Association), "in-flight entertainment," and "Wi-Fi." Each category is rated on a five-point scale.
Eric Snell, Chief Customer Experience Officer at Delta Air Lines, stated, "Being named the 'Best Global Airline in North America' by APEX is a testament to the trust our customers place in us, as well as the result of our ongoing efforts to provide the best possible service throughout the travel journey." He added, "Delta's customer-centric service is focused on redefining the standard of travel by adding new services such as the Delta One Lounge, ultra-fast complimentary Wi-Fi, and new cabin interior designs."
He continued, "This award, which is based on actual customer feedback, once again demonstrates Delta's commitment to delivering an enhanced travel experience at every stage of the journey, from the ground to onboard."
Delta Air Lines continues to partner with innovative service and premium brands to enhance the customer experience. A notable example is the introduction of Delta Sync Wi-Fi, an ultra-fast complimentary in-flight Wi-Fi service, on most flights through collaboration with T-Mobile. Recently, Delta expanded its partnership with Italian luxury brand Missoni, adding sophisticated design details and upgraded amenities to the Delta One business class.
Ralph Albers, Delta Air Lines Global Communications Director, commented, "This award is the result of the relentless efforts of Delta’s more than 100,000 employees worldwide to provide customers with the best travel experience." He added, "As the most awarded airline in the United States and a brand trusted by customers, this achievement further strengthens Delta Air Lines’ position."
