"No Need to Worry About Investing in U.S. Stocks Without English Skills"... AI Translation Service Chosen by 30,000 Users

Operating 'StockNow,' a U.S. Stock Information Platform
Providing Real-Time Earnings Call Translation and Interpretation Services

During late-night hours, domestic investors in U.S. stocks gather on YouTube live streams or in online communities. They do so to watch earnings announcements and earnings calls in real time. Without this, they risk missing out on crucial investment information. However, even by tuning in, it is not always possible to access the most accurate and up-to-date information at the optimal moment. If one is not fluent in English, it can take considerable time to understand information delivered in real time. These are the time difference and language barriers that every domestic U.S. stock investor has faced. Turnacious is a startup that has proposed a solution to this structural problem through artificial intelligence (AI).

On June 22, Kim Junghoon, CEO of Turnacious, said, "We will deliver timely, easy, and fast U.S. stock investment information by introducing AI technology that goes beyond simple translation and summarization to help users understand and interpret information." The U.S. stock information platform 'StockNow,' developed by Turnacious, provides real-time earnings call translation and interpretation services based on AI. The company launched its translation service last year, and in April of this year, it added a real-time earnings call voice interpretation feature.

StockNow, which was launched in October last year, secured its position in the market ahead of earnings call translation services introduced later by domestic securities firm apps. CEO Kim explained, "We discovered that investors in U.S. stocks were experiencing difficulties and had a need for earnings call translation and interpretation, and at the time, there were no services addressing this issue, so we created a real-time earnings call translation service." Within just four months of its launch, StockNow reached 30,000 monthly active users, drawing significant attention. Although other services translating earnings calls have since emerged, CEO Kim noted that these users have continued to use StockNow without leaving.

The key reason for this, according to CEO Kim, is that StockNow focuses on 'real-time information accessibility from the investor's perspective.' He said, "The first priority is how quickly one can obtain important information in real time, and the second is translating and interpreting that information so investors can easily understand it. We emphasized real-time delivery because, beyond simple translation, timing and results ultimately lead to tangible value creation for investors."

The quality of translation and interpretation, as well as the underlying technology, have also received positive evaluations. CEO Kim and his team members, who previously worked at KakaoStyle, have extensive experience processing large volumes of data in real time, so they know how to minimize latency when building systems for translation and voice interpretation. CEO Kim said, "While developing the Korean voice translation system, we had to create a system similar to a real-time broadcasting system, so we conducted hundreds of experiments to finely adjust initial delay, voice playback speed, and intervals between sentences. As a result, we were able to build a Korean voice interpretation system that operates seamlessly with minimal delay." Turnacious is also preparing an automated system to continuously and efficiently improve the quality of translation and generated voice.

CEO Kim started the company with the idea of using new technologies such as AI and large language models (LLM) to solve problems in the existing market that were previously difficult to address. In the past, there were many questions in online communities about the U.S. stock market's economic announcement schedules or corporate earnings announcement schedules, but now, people simply say, "Just check on StockNow." The initial goal of solving market problems has been achieved. The next goal is the global market. CEO Kim said, "Starting in the fourth quarter of this year, we will prepare a multi-language system and plan to expand our services to Japan, the United States, and other countries from next year. We also aim to innovate in terms of information acquisition speed and quality of understanding using AI, so we are considering entering English-speaking countries as well."
