Boryeong Launches 4th Youth Network to Discover and Propose Youth Policies

Boryeong City in South Chungcheong Province announced on June 19 that it held the inauguration ceremony for the 4th Boryeong Youth Network at the Boryeong Youth Community Center on June 18. The event was attended by Mayor Kim Dongil and around 30 members of the Youth Network.

The Youth Network is a participatory organization where young people directly research and propose policies. Its main goal is to discover practical policies through communication with local youth.

This 4th cohort includes 38 young people who either reside in or are active in Boryeong. They are divided into three subcommittees: education and participation, welfare and culture, and jobs and housing. Their term runs until May 12, 2027.

The Youth Network plans to discuss a variety of issues through quarterly general meetings, including policy proposals, participation in youth events, and policy monitoring and promotion.

In particular, each subcommittee will set detailed tasks and actively identify feasible youth policies.

Mayor Kim Dongil stated, "We will actively support the realization of the lives that Boryeong's youth dream of in OK Boryeong by promoting their proactive participation and expanding policies that reflect the changing environment and diverse needs."
