Promoting "Squid Game" Season 3
Actor Lee Byung-hun appeared on the popular American TV talk show 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' to promote 'Squid Game' Season 3, which is set to be released on June 27.
On the talk show, which aired on NBC on June 17 (local time), he said, "'Squid Game' is a Korean story made by a Korean director, with Korean actors, in the Korean language." He added, "When I first read the script, I thought it was interesting but experimental, so I believed it would either be a huge success or a complete failure." He went on to say, "When I first visited Los Angeles and New York to promote the series, I was truly shocked by the fans' reactions." 'Squid Game' Season 1 holds the record for the most-watched series on Netflix of all time, and Season 2 is currently ranked third.
Lee Byung-hun played the Front Man, who oversees the games in 'Squid Game.' When asked if he kept the plot a secret until the show was released, he replied, "I didn't even tell my mother. She got angry after watching the show later," he said with a laugh. When asked if his two children watched the show, he shared, "My ten-year-old son heard about the Front Man from his school friends and, with a sad face, asked me, 'Dad, why are you so bad?'"?prompting laughter from the audience.
Lee Byung-hun also responded positively to the question of whether there could be a spin-off focused on the Front Man. "I'm not sure about that, but there is a possibility," he said, adding, "We never know what might happen."
