North Korea: "Israel Is a Cancerous Presence to Middle East Peace... Condemns Attack on Iran"

North Korea Highlights Blood Alliance with Russia on First Anniversary of Treaty

On June 19, North Korea commented on the Israel-Iran conflict, stating, "The grave situation the world is witnessing today clearly demonstrates that Israel, supported and backed by the United States and the West, is a cancerous presence to Middle East peace and the main culprit in destroying world peace and security."

The North Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs made this statement through a spokesperson's commentary titled "The Aggressors Who Have Brought New Turmoil to the Middle East Cannot Escape Responsibility for Destroying International Peace," published in Rodong Sinmun on the same day. The ministry said, "We express grave concern over Israel's military attacks and resolutely condemn them."

The ministry stated, "Israel's reckless and increasingly expanding military attacks, which flagrantly violate the basic principles of international law and the UN Charter and target civilians, are heinous acts of aggression that mercilessly trample on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of sovereign states. Such actions are inexcusable crimes against humanity under any circumstances."

The ministry also targeted the United States and Western countries, saying, "The international community is now turning its stern attention to the United States and Western powers, who are fanning the flames of war by questioning Iran's legitimate sovereign rights and right to self-defense, instead of condemning Israel, which is driving the Middle East situation into an inextricable and catastrophic phase and is frenzied with ambitions of territorial expansion."

The ministry further stated, "The Zionists who have brought new turmoil to the Middle East, along with the forces that actively shield and support them from behind, will bear full responsibility for destroying international peace and security."

Meanwhile, on the occasion of the signing of the 'DPRK-Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty' and the first anniversary of Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to North Korea, North Korea highlighted its blood alliance with Russia. Rodong Sinmun, the official newspaper of the North Korean Workers' Party, reported that "the participation of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea) armed combat units in the liberation operation of the Kursk region, which drew the attention of the whole world, was the most exemplary implementation of the comprehensive strategic partnership treaty, fully demonstrating the power of the two countries' armed forces and the absolute solidity of their alliance."

The newspaper also stated, "The firm position of the peoples of the two countries, who have felt the vitality of their friendship and alliance forged in the struggle to end imperialist hegemony, threats, and intimidation, and to safeguard peace, stability, and national interests, is to further deepen their militant friendship and achieve common prosperity and well-being." It added, "By upholding the noble intentions of the leaders of the two countries, the new inter-state treaty will further demonstrate its vitality and power in advancing the strategic relationship between North Korea and Russia, and only victory and glory will await the peoples of the two countries."
