Kim Taekyun, Jeonnam Provincial Council Chairman: "Women Are the Future of Korea... Good Jobs Needed"

Attendance at the 'Jeonnam Women's Job Fair' Held in Yeosu

Kim Taekyun, Chairman of the Jeonnam Provincial Council, attended the '2nd Jeonnam Women's Job Fair 2025' held at Heungguk Gymnasium in Yeosu on June 18, emphasizing the importance of expanding women's employment.


The fair was attended by over 1,000 people, including Kim Yungrok, Governor of Jeonnam Province, heads of related organizations and groups, recruiting companies, and job seekers. The event proceeded in the order of a themed video screening, performances, commemorative photo sessions, and a tour of the venue.

In his congratulatory speech, Chairman Kim stated, "According to the 'May 2025 Gwangju-Jeonnam Employment Trends' announced by the Honam Regional Statistics Office, there are 560,000 employed men and 450,000 employed women aged 15 and over in the Jeonnam region, resulting in a gap of 110,000. Women's jobs are still lacking, which is why job fairs for women who have experienced career interruptions are being held every year."


He added, "In the future, women must lead the future of Korea. I hope that many female job seekers will find good jobs through this fair, and the Jeonnam Provincial Council will actively contribute to expanding women's employment opportunities."


Meanwhile, the fair received a great response by offering customized programs such as on-site recruitment, employment counseling, and job experience for various groups, including women who have experienced career interruptions and young women.
