Changwon Special City and BNK Gyeongnam Bank Sign Business Agreement on 'Climate Action Climate Finance'.
Changwon citizens who are enrolled in the Carbon Neutrality Points Program can receive an additional 1% interest rate on top of the basic rate when signing up for BNK Gyeongnam Bank's "BNK With-us Free Installment Savings" product. If all conditions for the product are met, they can receive a preferential interest rate of up to 4.6%. To enroll, citizens must obtain a certificate of enrollment from the "Carbon Neutrality Points Program" website or the mobile app "Carbon Pay" and submit it to BNK Gyeongnam Bank.
The "Carbon Neutrality Points Program" is a system that encourages continuous citizen participation by awarding points and incentives for various activities that reduce carbon emissions in daily life. This agreement is expected to serve as an important opportunity to expand citizens' efforts to respond to the climate crisis.
Through this agreement, the city plans to connect environmental and financial benefits, enabling citizens to practice carbon neutrality while also enjoying economic advantages.
In particular, the agreement is significant because it provides a practical incentive through financial benefits, thereby laying the groundwork for more citizens to participate in carbon neutrality efforts in their daily lives.
Deputy Mayor Cho Myungrae stated, "I hope this agreement, which combines the practice of carbon neutrality in daily life with financial benefits, will serve as a real motivation for citizens," and added, "I ask that more citizens join in practicing carbon neutrality in their everyday lives and take an interest in creating a sustainable Changwon."
