This campaign was conducted in collaboration with various local organizations, including the Guri Domestic and Sexual Violence Integrated Counseling Support Center (Director Jeon Byeonghwa), the Guri City Branch of the Gyeonggi Province Women's Association (President Hong Yeonhee), Guri Police Station (Chief Oh Mi-ae), the Family Division of the Guri City Community Security Council (Head Nam Yunsil), and the Northern Gyeonggi Center of Women's Emergency Hotline 1366 (Director Lee Hyunsook).
According to the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family's "2024 Survey on the Status of Violence Against Women," the main people victims of violence seek help from are family or relatives (52.6%), and neighbors or friends (30.1%). Therefore, appropriate intervention from those around the victim is crucial for victims to disclose their experiences and receive assistance.
On the day of the campaign, participating organizations focused on raising citizens' awareness of violence against women by informing them of the seriousness of sexual and domestic violence through OX quizzes and the distribution of promotional materials. They also actively provided practical prevention measures, aiming to build social consensus for creating a safer Guri City for all citizens.
Baek Kyunghyeon, Mayor of Guri City, stated, "It is important to actively support the recovery of victims by providing counseling and medical expense support, while also creating a preventive environment where violence does not occur." He added, "We will use this campaign as an opportunity to spread awareness about the need to prevent violence that threatens our lives, and will make further efforts to ensure Guri City is a safe place for everyone."
