On this day, around 30 members of the Lotte Outlet Gwangju Suwan Branch Charlotte Volunteer Group worked to cover grape clusters with protective bags on about 500 grape trees planted across a 2,200㎡ (approximately 700 pyeong) vineyard. Bagging grapes is an essential process to protect them from pests and diseases and to ensure the production of high-quality grapes.
The Happy Rural Volunteer Group from NH Nonghyup Gwangju Headquarters and employees of Gwangju Transportation Corporation also participated in the event to help create a happier rural community. Since 2018, Lotte Outlet Gwangju Suwan Branch has been continuously engaging in activities to support local farms in partnership with Bonryang Nonghyup and Gwangju Nonghyup, and plans to continue contributing to alleviating rural labor shortages together with local organizations in the future.
Choi Jongheon, Store Manager of Lotte Outlet Gwangju Suwan Branch, said, "I hope this will be of some help to local farms struggling with labor shortages," adding, "We will continue our farm labor assistance activities, which we began to promote mutual growth with the local community."
