This forum has been organized to present a future blueprint for the "Citizen Sovereignty City," a goal set by the city. The "Citizen Sovereignty City" refers to a society where citizens act as the main agents of administration, express their opinions in daily life, participate in decision-making processes, and practice democracy independently in their everyday environments.

Mayor Park stated, "The driving force that leads a nation comes from the will and participation of its people," and added, "In line with this, Gwangmyeong City will take a leap forward as a 'Citizen Sovereignty City' where citizens are the true owners."

At the forum, Mayor Park will take the stage as a presenter to unveil the city's future blueprint for autonomy and decentralization. In his presentation, Mayor Park plans to introduce major achievements and future strategies from the 7th and 8th popularly elected administrations, including the full expansion of the Residents' Autonomy Council, the 500-person roundtable discussion, and the increased hosting of citizen forums.

In addition to Mayor Park, Professor So Soonchang from Konkuk University's Department of Public Administration and Professor Jung Junhee from Hanyang University's Department of Information Society and Media will also give presentations on topics such as the institutional evolution of local autonomy, policy achievements, and the importance of expanding citizen participation.

After the keynote presentations, a talk concert will be held under the theme "How Does Citizen Participation Transform a City?" The discussion, moderated by Professor Jung Junhee from Hanyang University's Department of Information Society and Media, will feature local autonomy experts and civic activists as panelists.

In the lobby of the event venue, a "30th Anniversary of Local Autonomy Photo Exhibition" will be held, which can be viewed on a media wall.

Any citizen can participate in the forum by registering in advance through an online form. For more details, please contact the city's Department of Autonomy and Decentralization.
