Baekseok University announced on June 18 that Professor Jeongran Park of the Department of Dental Hygiene in the School of Health Sciences has been elected as the 20th president of the Korean Dental Hygienists Association.
Professor Park was elected president at an extraordinary general meeting of the association held on June 14 at the Gloria Hall of the Koreana Hotel in Seoul.
She previously served as vice president of the 19th association, and last year, she was highly praised for successfully leading an international event as the organizing committee chair of the International Federation of Dental Hygienists.
She presented "the dental hygienist spirit that leads the changes of the era with the confidence of a professional" as the core value for the association's operation, and outlined policy directions such as establishing an institutional foundation and expanding educational programs.
In her inaugural address, Professor Park stated, "I will create an open, member-centered association to further strengthen the professionalism and rights of dental hygienists," and added, "I will firmly establish the policy foundation for future advancement."
