27 Holes in Scale...
Established as a Hub for Recreational Sports
Gangnam-gu, Seoul has established the 'Tancheon Park Golf Course' in the Segok-dong area, boasting the largest scale among park golf courses in Seoul, and has become a hub for residents' recreational sports. The Tancheon Park Golf Course is built on a total area of 24,552 square meters (7,440 pyeong), spanning Segok-dong 1-3, 2-5, 13-4, Bokjeong-dong 338-1 in Seongnam-si, and Segok-dong 507. The course features 27 holes, allowing for games on a variety of courses.

Park golf is a type of golf played in parks. It is a recreational sport that is especially popular among seniors and people with disabilities, as it can be easily enjoyed by anyone, regardless of age or gender, with only simple equipment. Until now, there was no park golf course in Gangnam-gu, which meant residents had to travel to other areas, causing significant inconvenience.
Since 2018, the district has reviewed several unused sites in response to residents' requests to build a park golf course, but securing a large-scale site within the city center proved difficult. However, following the inauguration of Mayor Cho Seongmyeong, the newly established Division of Recreational Sports, created through organizational restructuring, succeeded in securing land in the Segok-dong area along the Tancheon. With cooperation from Seongnam-si and the Air Force, the district was able to resolve this long-standing project.
The Tancheon Park Golf Course is divided into three courses, A, B, and C, each with 9 holes, and features holes ranging from par 3 to par 5. The A course (Segok-dong 1-3, 2-5, 7,309.5 square meters), B course (Segok-dong 507, 8,034.8 square meters), and C course (Segok-dong 13-4, 9,207.3 square meters) are all connected for easy walking access, enhancing user convenience. The course can accommodate 108 people at once, and with four sessions per day, up to 432 people can use the facility daily. Since its completion on June 26 last year, the cumulative number of visitors has reached 31,820.
Riding on the popularity of park golf, the district is also actively introducing indoor screen park golf facilities. In December last year, the district remodeled the public Dogok Senior Center, which was over 30 years old, and reopened it as the 'Maebong Senior Center Park Golf Academy,' making it the first senior center in Seoul to install a screen park golf facility.
So far, 679 people have participated in programs, and 2,525 people have used the facility independently, indicating a high level of user satisfaction. Gangnam-gu plans to secure a budget to install additional facilities at seven more locations, including cultural centers and senior centers.
The district is also hosting tournaments to further popularize park golf. On May 24, a family park golf tournament was held for three generations, with 49 teams and about 140 participants. The senior tournament is now held twice a year. Regular tournaments, such as the Mayor's Cup and the Association President's Cup, are also held.
Mayor Cho Seongmyeong of Gangnam-gu stated, "We will continue to work on creating various recreational sports environments, including park golf, to support the healthy lives of our residents."
