The Hyundai Motor Group Robotics Lab is presenting innovative robotics technologies that combine AI, as well as various service solutions through its comprehensive robotics platform. The booth has been designed as an interactive space to allow visitors to easily understand and experience software, which is generally more difficult to encounter compared to hardware.
The technologies unveiled at this event include: ▲‘On-device VLM’, which converts information recognized by cameras into human language ▲‘Intelligent CCTV’ equipped with video analysis technology ▲Facial recognition system ‘Faci’ ▲AI-based delivery robot ‘Dali Delivery’ ▲Service guide robot ‘Dali’ ▲Robot control system ‘Nacon’, among others.
Among these, the On-device VLM technology and Intelligent CCTV have been independently developed and are being revealed for the first time by the Robotics Lab. The On-device VLM is a solution that enables robots to perceive their surroundings in real time. This technology infers the meaning of images recognized by the robot’s camera and converts them into text or voice, combining the Robotics Lab’s vision-integrated controller’s rapid data processing capabilities with lightweight and optimized technologies.
The Intelligent CCTV uses AI-based video analysis technology and is designed to quickly detect abnormal situations such as fires, property damage, or unauthorized intrusions. By integrating Boston Dynamics’ SPOT, equipped with the Robotics Lab’s autonomous driving module, and the Intelligent CCTV, the company is presenting an efficient safety management solution.
Hyun Dongjin, Executive Director of the Robotics Lab, explained, “We are striving to provide a comprehensive customer experience that transcends boundaries, such as applying AI software technologies not only to robots but also to building infrastructures.”

Kia has also set up a separate exhibition space, allowing visitors to experience both vehicle and software technologies. The exhibition hall is divided into three zones: ▲AI Assistant Zone ▲SDV Zone ▲PBV Zone, where visitors can experience Kia’s differentiated software services as the company evolves into a smart device provider.
In the AI Assistant Zone, visitors can get into the EV4 equipped with generative AI and experience AI assistant features such as voice recognition. The SDV Zone offers explanations and videos about the future of mobility as software-driven smart devices, while the PBV Zone allows visitors to get into the displayed PV5 passenger van model and experience its innovative space.
A Kia representative stated, “We organized this exhibition to showcase our differentiated software competitiveness and the new mobility experiences enabled by it,” adding, “We plan to communicate the evolution of mobility into smart devices to customers in a variety of ways.”
