Gyeonggi Province conducted a joint safety inspection to prepare for the rainy season and heat waves, identifying 81 issues.
Gyeonggi Province announced on June 18 that it had conducted joint safety inspections of 33 land development and public housing districts within the province from May 14 to June 13 to prepare for the rainy season and heat waves, and identified a total of 81 issues.
The inspection targets included seven land development districts, such as the Pyeongtaek Godeok Internationalization District, and 26 public housing districts, such as the Suwon Dangsu District. Most of these districts are areas where large-scale land development and residential complex construction are either underway or nearing completion.

The main issues identified included: insufficient protection measures for embankment and cut slopes (25 cases); poor maintenance or management of drainage facilities (19 cases); lack of or improper operation of heat wave response facilities for workers (4 cases); and other cases of inadequate safety management (33 cases).
Lee Myungseon, Director of Land Development at Gyeonggi Province, stated, "This inspection focused not only on pointing out issues, but also on encouraging actual improvements at the sites by collaborating with project implementers and private experts." He added, "We will continue to do our best to conduct thorough pre-inspections and ongoing site management so that we can proactively respond to weather-related risks such as the rainy season and heat waves."
