On June 17, in front of the Democratic Party leader's meeting room at the main building of the National Assembly in Yeouido, Kim made these remarks to reporters after meeting with Kang Hunsik, Chief Presidential Secretary, and Woo Sangho, Senior Presidential Secretary for Political Affairs. Kim Hyunjung, spokesperson for the party's parliamentary group, added, "Since President Lee's attendance at the NATO summit is still undecided, if he does attend, the luncheon meeting will likely be scheduled after his return."

Kim Byungki also reported that Woo Sangho, Senior Presidential Secretary for Political Affairs, requested that the supplementary budget bill be processed as quickly as possible. Kim Hyunjung explained, "With regard to the supplementary budget, unofficial working-level discussions have already been taking place between the party and the government, so these discussions will continue until the Cabinet meeting, and there are no plans for an official meeting to discuss the matter."
