Gokseong County in South Jeolla Province (Governor Josangrae) announced on the 17th that a plaque ceremony for the 'National Model Senior Center' was held at the Osan-myeon branch senior center on the 16th, with more than 50 people in attendance, including Governor Josangrae, local Nonghyup heads, executives from the Gokseong County Senior Citizens' Association, and members of the Osan-myeon branch senior center.
This year, seven senior centers in South Jeolla Province were selected by the Korea Senior Citizens Association Headquarters as the 2025 National Model Senior Centers, and the Osan-myeon branch senior center was among those selected.
This recognition is the result of an overall evaluation in which the center was acknowledged for its excellence in subsidy accounting management and compliance with operational regulations, member management and activation of leisure programs, as well as its connection with the local community and efficient facility operation.
Meanwhile, the Osan-myeon branch senior center, which opened in 1982 and currently has about 30 members, operates a senior cafeteria five days a week and serves as a venue for improving senior welfare in the community and for communication among residents, as well as fulfilling its public role as a senior leisure welfare facility.
