KOTRA, IBK Industrial Bank of Korea, and Korea Automotive Technology Institute
to Jointly Host "2025 Future Mobility Super Connect"
in Silicon Valley, USA, on June 17-18
Export Consultations and Startup Pitching Sessions to Be Held
The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) announced that it will hold the "2025 Silicon Valley Future Mobility Super Connect" in Silicon Valley, USA, together with IBK Industrial Bank of Korea and the Korea Automotive Technology Institute, from June 17 to 18. This event has been organized to support promising Korean companies in the future mobility sector in entering the U.S. market.
The event consists of one-on-one export consultations, startup pitching sessions, future mobility trend talks, and on-site capacity-building workshops.
At the one-on-one export consultation held the previous day, 23 Korean companies participated, including 8 companies affiliated with IBK Industrial Bank of Korea’s startup incubation platform "IBK Chang Gong." These companies are engaged in fields such as electric vehicle powertrains, batteries, and autonomous driving solutions. They conducted approximately 150 consultations with around 40 local companies, including electric vehicle OEMs, autonomous driving technology firms, and venture capital (VC) firms. The consultations were designed to match Korean companies with local partners in response to the local companies’ needs for diversifying their collaboration channels.
On the same day, 9 startups took part in the startup pitching program, introducing their innovative technologies and services to North American VCs, buyers, engineers, and other stakeholders in the future mobility industry. In the subsequent future mobility trend talk, representatives from General Motors (GM), one of the largest automakers in North America, and Rivian, a leading company in the electric pickup truck market, participated as panelists and shared insights on industry outlook and technological cooperation strategies.
On this day, an on-site workshop will be held to allow Korean companies to directly experience the Silicon Valley innovation ecosystem and strengthen their competitiveness in the transition to future mobility. The program will include a seminar on strategies for entering the supply chain of the largest automakers in North America, investment attraction and technology innovation mentoring by corporate venture capital (CVC) firms in the mobility sector, as well as visits to the headquarters of leading U.S. urban air mobility companies and consultations on technological cooperation.
Silicon Valley is the center of innovation for electric vehicles and autonomous driving technologies. Global electric vehicle OEMs and mobility technology companies specializing in autonomous driving and AI are concentrated in this region. As research and development in key areas such as autonomous driving, battery efficiency, and AI-based mobility solutions is rapidly advancing here, Silicon Valley is gaining attention as a strategic base for Korean companies seeking to enter the future mobility ecosystem.
Lee Geumha, Head of KOTRA’s North America Regional Headquarters, stated, "Recently, changes in the trade environment in the United States have presented new challenges for our mobility companies. KOTRA will continue to expand field-oriented support so that Korean companies with technological capabilities can proactively understand local industry trends and receive practical assistance in developing technologies and establishing localization strategies."
