Gyeongbok University will host the "KBU AI Hackathon Competition" with the aim of increasing efficiency and strengthening the capabilities of its members by integrating digital technology into administrative and educational settings.
This competition is open to both faculty and students, with the goal of developing creative ideas and practical solutions using artificial intelligence (AI) technology to improve the overall quality of school operations.
All members of Gyeongbok University are eligible to participate, but only as part of a team of at least three people. In particular, the university encourages the formation of mixed teams of faculty and staff to promote the analysis of problems and the development of solutions from diverse perspectives.
The competition will begin with an orientation and preliminary training in the fourth week of June 2025. Team-based solution development will then take place over a two-month period, from the first week of July to the fourth week of August 2025. This will be followed by judging in mid-September 2025, with the announcement and awarding of outstanding teams scheduled for October 15, 2025.
The grand prize will be awarded to one team, with a prize of 5 million won. Two teams will receive the top excellence award, each with a prize of 4 million won. Two teams will receive the excellence award, each with a prize of 3 million won.
The competition topics are divided into two main categories: open topics and designated topics. For open topics, participants can propose creative ideas for improving school operations or advancing education. The designated topics are subdivided into a total of 18 categories.
