The AmCham delegation, led by Chairman and CEO James Kim, held a series of meetings with figures from the Trump administration, the U.S. Congress, and other sectors, presenting a new vision for Korea-U.S. economic cooperation and emphasizing the need for collaboration centered on strategic industries. The delegation included senior executives from global companies representing various industries, such as Hyundai Motor, Coupang, LG CNS, and POSCO.
In particular, the delegation met with key officials from the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Department of Commerce, Department of State, Department of Energy, Department of Defense, as well as the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR), the National Security Council (NSC), and the Vice President's Office, all of which are core departments in a potential second Trump administration. According to AmCham, these discussions covered a broad range of topics, including expanding cooperation in strategic industries such as semiconductors and artificial intelligence (AI), stabilizing supply chains, and ensuring energy security. The delegation also held a series of meetings with bipartisan members of both the House and the Senate and exchanged policy ideas with major think tanks.

The AmCham delegation also conveyed to U.S. officials that Korea's new government has made improving the global business environment and strengthening cooperation with the U.S. in strategic industries a top priority. President Lee Jaemyung was introduced as a "leader with both insight and the ability to execute." The delegation emphasized that President Lee and his administration are committed to transforming Korea into a Northeast Asian innovation hub based on Korea-U.S. economic cooperation.
James Kim, Chairman of AmCham, stated, "This Doorknock was held at an exceptionally timely moment to discuss key issues that will shape the future of Korea-U.S. economic relations directly with major U.S. leaders." He added, "There was a broad consensus that both countries need to strengthen practical cooperation centered on strategic industries, and AmCham will continue to serve as a bridge for public-private cooperation between the two countries."
The key policy messages and outcomes discussed during the Doorknock will be shared at the upcoming "AmCham-Korea Times Forum" on June 24. This forum will bring together senior officials from both countries, policy experts, and leaders of major global companies to explore practical avenues for cooperation.
