Gwangju University announced on the 17th that it held a "Department Major Special Lecture" to enhance foreign students' understanding of their majors and assist them in exploring career paths.
This special lecture, held twice on the 4th and 11th, was designed to help international students gain a clearer understanding of each department's curriculum and career paths, as well as to support them in establishing self-directed academic plans.
Professors Kim Youngjin from the Department of Aviation Service, Kim Sangyeop from the Department of Business Administration, Kim Hyonjong from the Department of Trade and Distribution, and Kang Kyunggu from the Department of Hotel Culinary and Baking participated in the lecture. They introduced each department's curriculum, core competencies, and career visions.
Each professor provided practical information not only about the characteristics and curriculum of their majors, but also about potential employment fields after graduation, opportunities for field training, and connections to certifications, which received a positive response from the international students.
Going beyond simple department promotion, the lecture served as a practical guide to help each international student design their academic and career paths according to their aptitudes and interests. It also addressed students' questions through a Q&A session.
An official from the Office of International Affairs said, "We expect that this program has been very helpful for international students in choosing and adapting to a suitable major in a new environment," adding, "We plan to continue offering customized major experience and career design programs for international students in the future."
