Park Jiwon, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea representing Haenam, Wando, and Jindo in South Jeolla Province, is publishing the '2025 Legislative Report' that details the legislative achievements he promised to local voters.

According to Park’s office on June 16, this legislative report was produced to repay the support of the people of Haenam, Wando, and Jindo, who recorded the highest nationwide vote share and turnout in the 21st presidential election.

In the report, Park details his service as Co-Chair of the Democratic Party of Korea’s Central Election Countermeasures Committee and as Chair of the Gwangju and South Jeolla Committee of the Every Alley Election Committee, highlighting his dedication to regime change and efforts to prevent a conspiracy to incite rebellion.

Notably, over the past three years, Park has appeared on more than 1,740 broadcasts, earning the nickname 'Yeouido Mic President', and traveled a total of 11,814 kilometers across the country. The report also documents his on-the-ground efforts for regime change, including 121 listening tours, 65 campaign rallies, and 64 broadcast appearances, all while often catching short naps between events.

Park positioned himself as the 'military commander' in the Gwangju and South Jeolla region to expand support for President Lee Jaemyung, and fought on the front lines against attempts at martial law and rebellion. These efforts are credited with leading to the highest nationwide vote share and turnout in Haenam, Wando, and Jindo.

The legislative report also highlights Park’s field-oriented activities, describing how he raised a 'tiger-like voice' against the Yoon Suk-yeol administration while working 'like an ox' for local development. Park has consistently practiced 'Geumgwiwolrae' (returning on Friday and leaving on Monday), visiting his constituency every week.

The report introduces major pledges for the development of Haenam, Wando, and Jindo. For Haenam, these include: establishing the Solaseado Global AI Supercluster Hub; supporting the construction of a renewable energy-linked energy expressway; promoting the extension of the Honam High-Speed Railway to Haenam; building a K-agriculture leading region-specialized advanced agricultural industry platform; and constructing a high-speed and conventional rail link between Muan Airport and Suncheon.

For Wando, the pledges include: actively supporting the Wando-Goheung coastal tourism road; promoting the extension of the Honam High-Speed Railway to Wando; building a K-seaweed-based climate change response platform; supporting a smart convergence K-marine healing hub; and establishing a seaweed-specialized marine bioindustry cluster.

Key tasks for Jindo include: reviewing the change of the starting point of National Route 18 and plans for a new Jodo Bridge; promoting the extension of the Honam High-Speed Railway to Jindo; gradually establishing a publicly led offshore wind power direct supply complex; supporting the expansion of Seomang Port as a national fishing port; renovating the national management embankment in the Sopo district; and supporting the creation of the Namdo Harmony Jindo Folk Arts Cluster.

Notably, the report also covers the distribution of livelihood recovery support funds?20,000 won per person?to all residents of Haenam, Wando, and Jindo, a key achievement led by Park.

Park stated, "This legislative report is a token of gratitude for the great victory achieved by the people of Haenam, Wando, and Jindo after the presidential election, and it reaffirms our commitment that the development of Haenam, Wando, and Jindo is the future of Korea. Gwangju and South Jeolla recorded the highest metropolitan vote share in this presidential election, and especially our Haenam, Wando, and Jindo received overwhelming support with the highest nationwide vote share. I will do my utmost to ensure that this overwhelming support is repaid with regional development."

He added, "By fighting the Yoon Suk-yeol administration like a tiger and working for the region like an ox, we were able to achieve today’s results. All of this was possible thanks to the active participation of the people of Haenam, Wando, and Jindo, the cooperation of the county heads and officials, the three county councils, and the warm support and interest of the local media."

The '2025 Legislative Report' is currently being printed and produced, and will be mailed to the Haenam, Wando, and Jindo regions starting June 20. Delivery to all households is expected to be completed by June 23.
