On June 16, Sejong City announced that it had produced a leaflet on safe usage of urban streams and distributed it to the Sejong City Office of Education and administrative welfare centers in towns, townships, and neighborhoods.

This leaflet was created to prevent accidents caused by sudden rises in stream water levels during the rainy season. It contains information on local urban stream amenities, causes of water level increases, safety precautions, and weather advisories.

In particular, Sejong City's urban streams are frequented by many citizens using various water-friendly facilities such as walking trails, musical fountains, and bicycle paths. The city emphasized the need for special caution to prevent safety accidents during heavy rainfall.

To prevent accidents during the rainy season, the city continues to expand the installation of barriers that restrict access to urban streams and issues weather advisories in the event of typhoons or heavy rain.

Kwon Youngseok, Director of the Environment and Greenery Bureau, stated, "Urban streams are precious places of rest for citizens, but during the rainy season, they can quickly become dangerous spaces. I hope everyone will recognize this dual nature of urban streams and use them safely and enjoyably."
