Plans to Continuously Expand Stay-Type Tourism Content Linked to Major Local Festivals
Pohang City is launching a lodging discount promotion in collaboration with the leisure platform 'NOL' during the Pohang International Light Festival season, targeting local pensions and pool villas.
This promotion is designed to encourage festival visitors to stay in Pohang rather than making only day trips, allowing them to enjoy tourist attractions and local cuisine, and thereby expanding the foundation for "stay-type tourism."
In particular, this promotion is expected to spread the excitement of the festival beyond the city center to outlying areas, boost spending throughout Pohang, and invigorate the local economy.
Discount coupons will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis through the 'NOL' app from June 16 to June 30, offering a 40,000 won discount on accommodation reservations of 100,000 won or more.
The stay period is from June 20 to July 7, and the promotion may end early if the budget is exhausted.
The city plans to actively promote this discount event through various channels, including social media and the special event page within the 'NOL' app, and to provide tourism information linked to the festival to enhance visitor convenience.
Park Sangjin, Head of the Tourism Convention City Promotion Headquarters, stated, "We hope that this accommodation discount event will encourage visitors to stay in Pohang and experience its many attractions more deeply." He added, "We will continue to expand stay-type tourism content linked to festivals to bring tangible vitality to the local economy."
