President Lee's Eldest Son Holds Private Wedding in Seoul Today... Many Democratic Party Figures Attend

President Lee Jae Myung held a private wedding ceremony for his eldest son, Dongho, at a wedding hall in Seoul on the afternoon of June 14. Although the wedding was originally planned as a family event, many political figures, including members of the Democratic Party of Korea, attended the ceremony.

Dongho's wedding took place at 5 p.m. that day at a wedding hall near downtown Seoul. Security agents and police were stationed near the venue, and it was reported that guests were prohibited from taking photos inside the hall.

Details of the private ceremony were shared by attendees. Park Honggeun, a member of the National Assembly who served as floor leader during President Lee's tenure as Democratic Party leader, wrote on Facebook, "President Lee, whose face was filled with happiness, became choked up and could not immediately continue his words as he tried to offer well-wishes to the bride and groom. At the end of the ceremony, when the bride and groom greeted their parents, all four family members were busy wiping away tears, comforting each other for the hardships they've endured and blessing the couple's future."

Park Kyungmee, a former Democratic Party lawmaker, also described the atmosphere on Facebook, saying, "It was beautiful to see the President moved to tears as he addressed his son, who has endured difficult times with him, and his daughter-in-law, who stood by his side. His honest and heartfelt advice as a father and father-in-law was also touching."

It was also reported that colleagues from the 'Orient Watch Factory,' where President Lee worked as a young laborer, were invited to the wedding.

Democratic Party lawmaker Jung Cheongrae shared on Facebook that he met these colleagues outside the wedding venue on the same day.
