The Role of Social Welfare Foundations in the Changing Social Service Policy Environment
Busan Social Service Institute and the Busan Social Welfare Foundation Council will jointly host the 7th Busan Social Service Innovation Future Agenda Forum at 3 p.m. on June 16 at the main auditorium of the Busan Social Welfare Center.
This forum, under the theme "The Role of Social Welfare Foundations in the Changing Social Service Policy Environment," has been organized to explore the direction and institutional role of social welfare foundations in response to rapidly shifting policy trends.
During the first session, Choi Hye-kyung, Director of Anna Foundation, will present on "The History and Identity of Social Welfare Foundations," while Joo Eun-soo, Professor in the Department of Social Welfare at Ulsan University, will discuss "The Necessity of Introducing a Comprehensive Social Service Budget System and the Role of Social Welfare Foundations."
The second session will feature a panel discussion moderated by Lee Ki-young, Professor at Pusan National University, with participants including Lee Jun-ho, Member of the Busan Metropolitan Council Welfare and Environment Committee; Lee Obok, Professor at Busan Catholic University; Park Seung-ki, CEO of Cheonhye Welfare Foundation; and Kim Jeong-geun, Director at Busan Social Service Institute. The panel will discuss social welfare foundations' policy responsiveness and practical strategies from various perspectives.
Yu Gyu-won, President of Busan Social Service Institute, stated, "Through this forum, we hope to shed new light on the public interest and expertise of local social welfare foundations and lay the groundwork for designing sustainable social service policies."
