Woo Wonsik Congratulates Kim Byungki on Election as Ruling Party Floor Leader... Urges Frequent Communication with Opposition

Woo Wonsik, Speaker of the National Assembly, sent a congratulatory message to Representative Kim Byungki, who was elected as the second floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, and urged him to communicate frequently with the opposition party's floor leader.

On June 13, Woo Wonsik wrote on his Facebook page, "I sincerely congratulate Representative Kim Byungki on being elected as the second floor leader of the Democratic Party," adding, "As the new floor leader of the ruling party following the launch of the new administration, I believe you must feel a heavy sense of responsibility."

Woo Wonsik continued, "I myself was elected as the second floor leader of the Democratic Party in the 20th National Assembly in 2017, and experienced being the first floor leader of the ruling party under the new administration at that time," and added, "Since the government was launched without a transition committee back then, there were many difficult challenges in the early days, and the role of the ruling party's floor leader was truly important in solving them."

He said, "I have no doubt that Representative Kim Byungki, as the new floor leader, will fulfill his role well so that the new administration can succeed for the future of the Republic of Korea."

He added, "Next Monday, the new floor leader of the People Power Party will also be elected," and said, "As the floor leader of the ruling party, I hope you will meet and communicate frequently with the opposition party's floor leader."
