Gwangju City announced on June 13 that it will hold the 'Hi, Pureut Market in City Arboretum' at the Gwangju City Arboretum on June 14.

This event marks the third social economy market to be held at the Gwangju City Arboretum. It was organized to share the value of the social economy?which contributes to job creation for vulnerable groups and addresses social issues?with citizens.

The event is co-hosted by the Gwangju Social Economy Association (Gwangju Social Economy Support Center), Korea Social Enterprise Promotion Agency, Gwangju Metropolitan Self-Sufficiency Center, and Gwangju Sharing Center. It will be operated in an eco-friendly manner by reducing the use of disposable products and encouraging the use of reusable shopping bags.

Citizens can enjoy 35 experience and sales booths at the event site, including ▲pet plant terrariums ▲eco-friendly air freshener making ▲recycled paper bookmark making ▲coffee grounds keyring and flowerpot making ▲griptok and slime experiences. There will also be handmade crafts and healthy food tasting corners, providing opportunities to experience ethical consumption.

Various attractions are also prepared for families, such as instant family photo shoots, bubble performances, balloon art shows, recreation, and face painting. A variety of participatory events will be held, including an online pre-registration event and an on-site purchase accumulation event. For more details, visit the Gwangju Social Economy Support Center website or contact the Management Strategy Team of the Gwangju Social Economy Support Center.

Lee Gyedu, Director of Labor and Employment Policy, said, "I hope this event will serve as an opportunity to naturally inform citizens about the meaning and value of the social economy," adding, "We will continue to work to raise public awareness of the social economy and to expand market opportunities for social economy enterprises."
