The Gwangju Community Chest of Korea announced on June 13 that it held the "Gwangju Donggu 2nd Term 2025 Our Neighborhood Sharing Hero Sharing Leader and Sharing Company Certification Ceremony" with the Sharing Heroes.
At the ceremony, which took place on June 12 in the reception room of Dong-gu District Office, certification plaques were presented to nine Sharing Heroes. This event is the result of a relay donation campaign that began after Dong-gu District Mayor Im Taek participated as the first Sharing Leader in the Gwangju region in April. It follows the first group certification ceremony held on May 22, making this the second such event.
Gwangju Dong-gu has achieved the milestone of its 25th Sharing Hero, taking the lead in spreading a culture of sharing in the local community.
The nine Sharing Heroes who participated in this ceremony are: Lee Hwayoung, Chairperson of Donggu Academy Operations Council; Kang Daeok, CEO of Gwang-eun Business Co., Ltd.; Kim Dongseop, former Head of the Architecture Department at Dong-gu District Office; Lee Ansu, Director of Urban Space at Dong-gu District Office; Kim Minkook and Lee Kyunga, Co-CEOs of Now Engineering Architects Office Co., Ltd.; Kim Taesik, CEO of Mine Engineering Architects Office Co., Ltd.; Kim Doyoung, CEO of Hyper Cooperative; Jung Sunki, President of the Chungjang-ro 1~3-ga Merchants Association; and Nam Seungjin, Chief Architect of Dong-gu District, totaling nine individuals.
Im Taek, Mayor of Dong-gu District, said, "The fact that Dong-gu has reached its 25th Sharing Hero in just over two months is thanks to the warm hearts of our neighbors. I will continue to actively support the spread of a culture of giving together in the future."
Park Heungcheol, Secretary General of the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea, stated, "In just two months, Dong-gu has achieved the significant result of producing 25 Sharing Leaders and Sharing Companies. I would like to thank the local leaders of Dong-gu who willingly participated in spreading the culture of sharing."
