Sang Hyunjun used to feel pressure when putting. Ahead of this tournament, he adjusted his training approach. "I've been focusing more on putting in my practice. I think I've put in enough work," he said.
Currently, he attends school classes until the fourth period in the morning, then heads to the practice range to hone his competitive skills.
He started playing golf in the sixth grade of elementary school. "My parents encouraged me naturally," he said. Since then, he has continued on the path of a golfer, steadily building his skills.
His future plans are also clear. Sang Hyunjun said, "After my birthday next year, I will be eligible for professional qualification," adding, "As soon as I become a third-year student, I plan to challenge for the pro tour." He expects to turn professional in the summer of next year. "I think I can turn pro around July or August, and I might participate in this tournament again around that time," he said.
When asked what kind of player he wants to become, he replied, "Starting from my third year of high school, I want to increase my practice and become a player who makes fewer mistakes." He added, "I want to be remembered as an impressive player by both my juniors and seniors. When people hear my name, I hope they think of me as a player who has both good character and strong skills."
Sang Hyunjun mentioned Tiger Woods as his role model. Reflecting on the significance of his first victory, he is quietly preparing for his next stage.
