Meeting with reporters at his law office in Seocho-gu, Seoul, Min said, "I understand that the case I have been assigned has raised various questions through public opinion. I will first focus on identifying the facts and key issues, as well as preparing the office."

When asked about the investigation's priorities, he responded, "Since I have not yet fully grasped the details of the case, it would be premature to comment at this stage."

Regarding the selection of the investigation team, including assistant special prosecutors, he said, "I did not expect to be appointed as special prosecutor, so I have not thought about it in detail. I believe I will need to consider it step by step."

On the location of the special prosecutor's office, Min commented, "Vaguely, I think it will have to be somewhere in Seoul that is not inconvenient in terms of transportation, since several people will need to work there. I will need to look into it quickly."

When asked about criticisms that he is politically biased, he replied, "I do not think that is the case," adding, "I do not believe it is my place to evaluate myself."

Meanwhile, on the afternoon of June 12, President Lee Jaemyung appointed Min, the former chief judge of the Seoul Central District Court recommended by the Democratic Party of Korea, as special prosecutor for the Kim Gunhee case. Min is expected to spend a 20-day preparation period selecting his investigation team and setting up the office, with a full-scale investigation likely to begin early next month.
