According to the Changwon Fire Department in Gyeongnam on June 11, a report was received at around 6:01 a.m. on June 6 that a woman was about to give birth at a residence inside a U.S. military base in Yeoja-dong, Jinhae-gu, Changwon. Paramedics arrived at the scene and began transporting the woman to the hospital. When signs of imminent delivery appeared, they assisted with a safe delivery inside the ambulance. Both the newborn and the mother were found to be in stable condition with normal vital signs and were transported to Changwon Gyeongsang National University Hospital in good health.

A total of two ambulance teams were dispatched that day. The paramedics involved were Fire Sergeant Lee Min, Firefighter Heo Jaewon, and Firefighter Kang Donggu from the Daheung 119 Safety Center, as well as Fire Lieutenant Lee Taegyun, Firefighter Kim Gyuhyo, and Firefighter Lee Beomgyun from the Special Emergency Medical Team of the Pung-ho 119 Safety Center.

The paramedics were able to respond calmly and accurately even in this urgent situation thanks to their regular professional emergency medical training. During the delivery and transport, they provided on-site care under the medical guidance of a fire department physician.

The dispatched team members stated, "Protecting the lives of the people is our natural duty. We will continue to carry out even more professional field activities in the future."

Changwon Fire Department Chief Lee Sanggi said, "We will do our utmost to protect the safety of citizens by further strengthening professional emergency medical training in the future."
