'Gimhae Forest Trail Marathon' to Be Held on the 15th ... 3,776 to Run in Nature

The Gimhae City Forest Trail Marathon in South Gyeongsang Province will be held on June 15 near Gimhae Stadium.

The event will begin with an opening ceremony at 8:00 a.m., followed by races in three categories: half marathon (20.0975 km), 10 km, and 5 km.

According to the city, 928 people have registered for the half marathon, 1,916 for the 10 km, and 932 for the 5 km, bringing the total number of participants to 3,776, which is an increase of 700 compared to last year.

Half marathon participants will start at Gimhae Stadium, pass through Samgye Neighborhood Park and the Gimhae Astronomical Observatory, turn around at the designated point before Sodo Village, and return to Gimhae Stadium.

10 km participants will start at Gimhae Stadium, turn around before the Gimhae Astronomical Observatory, and return to Gimhae Stadium.

5 km participants will start at Gimhae Stadium, turn around at the Park Development Complex, and then head back to Gimhae Stadium.

Participants in each category will start in sequence at 10-minute intervals beginning at 8:30 a.m. on the day of the event.

Gimhae City, Gimhae Jungbu Police Station, and Gimhae Dongbu Fire Station conducted a joint on-site safety inspection in advance, and on the day of the event, a total of five ambulances will be deployed, with one stationed at each turnaround point.

Traffic control personnel will be stationed at the entrance to Bunsungsan near Gimhae Stadium to restrict vehicle and resident access from 7:00 a.m. to noon on the day of the event.

Additionally, 20 pacemakers, who set the standard pace, and about 10 race patrol members, who will provide emergency assistance during the race, will be assigned along each course for close support.

A city official stated, "The Forest Trail Marathon is a special event that combines nature and sports," and added, "We ask for your understanding regarding the participant limit, which was set for safety in the forest trail, and we will make thorough preparations to ensure a safe event."

The event is hosted by the Gimhae City Athletics Federation, organized by the Gimhae City Sports Council and the Gimhae City Athletics Federation, and sponsored by Gimhae City, Gimhae Jungbu Police Station, Gimhae Dongbu Fire Station, and the Gimhae Sungin Medical Foundation.
