"Establishing a Proper Pet Etiquette Culture"
Seogu District in Gwangju (headed by District Mayor Kim Ikang) is launching a "Visiting Dog Behavior Correction Training" program to prevent neighborhood conflicts arising from pet dogs and to establish a proper pet etiquette culture.
According to Seogu District on June 10, this program involves a dog trainer visiting households that require behavior correction for their dogs and providing one-on-one customized training for common behavioral issues such as excessive barking, inappropriate elimination, and separation anxiety. The program also includes pet etiquette education for owners.
The program is open to Seogu residents who have completed pet registration and need care education for their dogs. Residents wishing to participate can apply online via the QR code posted on the Seogu District website starting June 11. Forty households will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis and will receive training in sequence.
The training will be conducted at the applicant's home or at a nearby park or other preferred location, and will be operated as a 90-minute customized program focused on practical exercises, along with telephone consultations.
Kim Ikang, Mayor of Seogu District, stated, "Through dog behavior correction training, we will strive to reduce inconvenience among neighbors and continue our efforts to create a community where people and pets can live together in harmony."
